Chris

Chris is co-captain of the swim team.  This season, he has done an outstanding job leading, encouraging, and inspiring. He motivates his teammates during challenging workouts, he repeats instructions during practice to make sure everyone is on the same page, and he supports his peers during meets by getting his teammates involved and cheering everyone on.  Chris's incredible work ethic had a huge payoff at this week's meet when he dropped 5 seconds in his 200 freestyle and 10 seconds in his 500 freestyle, earning two personal bests times in those events!

Erik

Erik Harvey has been a non stop threat when it mattered the most this week. Even though the boys JV2 basketball team had little time on the court this week to prepare, due primarily to a shortened week, Erik was able to summon an inner strength that produced an undeniable force during game time. Simply put, Erik was an incredible during Wednesday's game against Brookwood - he snatched rebounds, stole the ball to produce transitional opportunities, played tough defense in the paint, and drove hard to the hoop with focus and power! Erik had no other choice but to play the entire game, and has done so in the past, which exemplifies his ability to fill any role needed to help the team. Erik's modesty and flexibility are a direct reflection of his ability to stay focused during game time and apply quick adjustments during timeouts and breaks to game time scenarios - he epitomizes what it means to be a team player!

Cara

Cara has been a consistently positive presence on the swim team this year.  She is extremely motivated and is vocal about her love for swimming. She is always excited to practice & race and is a superfan for all of her teammates.  This week she advocated to swim the 100 butterfly for the first time (arguably one of the most difficult events) and she did an excellent job!

Joseph

In Joseph McDonald’s last six matches he's gone 4-2, winning twice against his former school, LCA. He made the effort to go to a tournament during his winter break, and he's constantly providing his teammates with inspiration through his work ethic.  Congratulations Joseph!

Noah

Noah Benstock has been a staple at the 113 pound weight class for the past two seasons for the Vikings. He's at practice everyday working hard and setting a solid example for younger wrestlers. His happy demeanor never changes-win or lose he always comes off the mat with a positive attitude. His sportsmanship is unparalleled. Last Wednesday at Beaver Country Day, Noah's hard work paid off with a dominating victory that ended with him pinning his opponent with a perfectly executed half nelson.

Skylur

Freshman Skylur Demers started off her varsity basketball career by scoring an impressive 12 points against Brimmer and May in the season opener this past Friday, including a buzzer beater at the half!  As one of the youngest players on the court, Skylur played like a veteran; ripping down countless rebounds and charging to the hoop.  Congratulations to our first winter athlete of the week, Skylur!

Matt

Matt P. is the last fall athlete of the week for turning in a score of 78 at the Eastern Independent League Golf Tournament.  Matt is a senior who has been on the varsity golf team since his Freshman year.  He started in the sixth position and worked his way up to being one of the best golfers on the team.

Cooper

Cooper O. would probably be the first to tell you that he is not a soccer player, but you wouldn't know it from watching him play. His raw athletic ability coupled with his willingness to learn new skills and technique has transformed Cooper into a formidable stopper. For the Landmark Boys' Varsity Soccer Team, Cooper wins tackles on the ground and headers in the air to keep our opponents out of the middle of the field. His presence in the middle of the field has made the Vikings a stronger team. As a defender, Cooper even scored a goal against Portsmouth Abbey on Wednesday to show how well Landmark moved the ball and attacked as an entire team. Cooper is a quiet leader who leads by example and takes care of business on the field. His team is glad that Cooper decided to play soccer this year.

Kevin

Two weeks ago, two-year cross country captain Kevin R.  ran his last race at home. He won it by nearly 25 seconds. The boys team won by 14 points.

Last week Kevin placed 3rd at Berwick, leading the Landmark Boys to victory again.
Kevin along with Co-Captains Mark J. and David S. led the boys cross country team to a 7-1 regular season record, and look forward to defending their EIL and New England Championships in the coming two weeks.

Kyle

Kyle F. has been a rising star on the Landmark golf team over the course of the season.  He has won four out of his last five matches. Kyle moved up from playing the six spot to the three spot. He also is the youngest player in the league to play in the third position (very big and tough role to play).  Kyle has a positive attitude on and off the course and is always helping and encouraging his teammates. Many times he will play another six holes after practice to make sure he is ready for the next match. He has a record low score of five over par in a match.  Congratulations Kyle!

Krystyna

Krystyna D. has stepped up in a big way over the past couple weeks on the girl's volleyball team. As a swing player, she contributes to both the JV and Varsity matches. She has been a positive force off the bench for the varsity team by blocking at the net, hustling after passes to her setter position and serving accurately and consistently. During practices, she always gives her best efforts and leads by example. For these reasons, Krystyna is a rising star on the volleyball team.

Matt and Tom

This week we honor the hustle and determination of the Boys JV Soccer team thanks to Tom H. and Matt N. Game in and game out these two forwards work together each shift to cause mayhem and disruption in their opponent's’ defensive end. Their tireless effort has provided many opportunities on goal that wouldn't have otherwise existed. Last week they stepped on to field down 1-0 to Dexter, and after five minutes stepped off leading 2-1 each having scored once. Congratulate Tom H. and Matt N. who have earned Athlete of the Week through their hard work and endless hustle!

Jake

The boys' varsity freshman goalkeeper, Jake H., has kept the boys fighting in every single game this season. Averaging 12 saves a game, Jake is fearless, tough, and indomitable. The pairing of knowledge of the game and a cool demeanor allows Jake to take on any offensive attack with confidence.  As a teammate, Jake is always positive and reflective, and he makes those who play around him better. I can't think of a more fitting player to receive Athlete of the Week.

Madelyn

Madelyn’s hard work, dedication, and consistency paid off Friday, September 18th against Brimmer & May and Pingree where she took 3rd overall and ran a big PR in the process. Madelyn showed that she is capable of running with the top girls in the very competitive EIL.
